The Implementation and Enforcement of International Humanitarian Law

from Ashgate latest publications

by Michael N. Schmitt and Wolff Heintschel von Heinegg

The essays selected for this volume explore the entire range of issues related to the question of how to implement and enforce international humanitarian law. Topics covered include the use of criminal proceedings against those who have seriously (or gravely) committed war crimes; the concept of grave breaches; the universality principle and the practice of ‘lawfare’.

……

Peace Operations and Restorative Justice

from Ashgate latest publications

by Peter Reddy

This sharp study makes for evocative reading as it introduces the new concept of regeneration as key to any restoratively arranged peace operation. Military, police, NGO and civilian peacekeeper practitioners, as well as academic theorists, can use this unique work to produce better and more lasting results for conflict ridden communities.

……

Oxford Handbook of the Politics of International Migration
Edited by Marc R. Rosenblum and Daniel J. Tichenor

Integrating the perspectives of the wide variety of fields that hold a stake in the study of migration – political science, sociology, economics, anthropology – this Handbook presents an unprecedented interdisciplinary look at an issue that defines the modern era: the large-scale movement of people across international borders. Covering the major questions and challenges related to the issue, the Handbook is a comprehensive resource for students, scholars, and policy experts alike.
